Franco-Canadian multidisciplinary artist Gaële is passionate about creation, live performance, and songwriting. She built a strong foundation through two bachelor’s degrees in music: one in classical studies (Musicology at Pierre-Mendès-France University in Grenoble) and another in popular music (UQAM, Montréal).
A performer at heart from a young age—through choral singing, opera and musical theatre productions, dance, and theatre—the stage has always been her preferred playground. Radiant and fully embodied in performance, whether seated at the piano, accordion slung over her shoulder, or tap dancing, she is completely at ease on stage. Her numerous accolades reflect this presence, including Best Stage Presence and the Grand Performance Prize at the Festival de la chanson de Petite-Vallée, Best Performer at the Festival de Pully-Lavaux “À l’heure du Québec” (Switzerland), and a Cirque du Soleil Award.
As her creative drive grew over the years, Gaële developed her voice as a songwriter. For as long as she can remember, she has composed melodies to accompany rhyming stories. Initially writing for herself, she has since released four self-produced albums as a singer-songwriter (Cockpit – 2007, Diamant de papier – 2010, Télescope – 2013, Partir à Point – 2020).
Following the many artistic connections she forged after arriving in Québec in the summer of 2000, Gaële began collaborating extensively with other artists, writing custom songs for performers such as Marie-Pierre Arthur, Éli Rose, IMA, Jeannick Fournier, Lyne Renaud, and Florence K, among others. Her peers have recognized both her talent and her cultural involvement, awarding her prestigious honours including the André “Dédé” Fortin Prize and the Stéphane Venne Prize for Writing for Others. Her catalogue now exceeds 150 songs.
With diverse experience, contagious energy, and a deep love for the arts, Gaële is an accomplished artist who has graced Francophone stages and recording studios for over twenty years—through both her own songs and those she has written for others.
In recent years, she has also added stage director and artistic director to her repertoire, working on live productions with Pascale Picard, David Goudreault, and Tina Léon, among others, as well as directing music videos for artists such as Pierre Flynn, Antoine Gratton, and Pascale Picard. She also leads songwriting, composition, and performance workshops—both group and private sessions—supporting creators in developing their repertoire and live shows to their fullest potential.
